Total volleyball showdown on tonight at Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno in Bologna, for the Del Monte Italian Cup Finals, one of the top volleyball events in the world which saw all the top players stepping on the Unipol Arena court. 18.000 fans attended to the kermesse in the two days, four great games which put once again atop the roof of italian and international volleyball Cucine Lube Civitanova, winners in the final at tie break over other powerhouse Sir Safety Conad Perugia. It was a big Marathon, with Lube infront 2-1 in the fourth, with a dozen of chances to close the match in fourth, but Sir Safety Conad Perugia in the end won the fourth 36-34 at the extras, forcing the game to the tie break. In fifth set Lube stepped up again, with a great performance of MVP Osmany Juantorena, 28 points for the cuban italian, who drove Lube to the final 15-10 win. A great game also for Perugia, with Wilfredo Leon who put on the ground 31 points, not enough to take his team to the win. Once a gain a great game that shows how great is italian volleyball, the best volleyball in the world.

The Del Monte Italian Cup final will be again Cucine Lube Civitanova-Sir Safety Conad Perugia, with Vital Heynen’s team who clinched the Big Final’s spot with a clear win over Leo Shoes Modena in the second semifinal. It was a great performance for serbian opposite Aleksandar Atanasijevic, best scorer of the game with 20 points, decisive in the crunch time of each set. On the other side Modena was coming from a great period in last month, but in the key moments of the game Andrea Giani’s team lost the fundamental battles on court. Tomorrow Sir Safety Conad Perugia will face world champs Cucine Lube Civitanova in a great final.

Heartbeat game in Del Monte Italian Cup first semifinal, with the world champs Cucine Lube Civitanova who clinched tomorrow’s Big Final spot in an exciting tie break win over Itas Trentino. After being down two set to nithing, with Trento who dominated the game until taht moment, Fefè De Giorgi’s team fought back, stepping up and coming back on track, by clearly winnin third and winning fourth, forcing the game at the tie break. In the fifth Rychlicki and Simon stepped up again, driving Lube to the big final, taking home the game 15-12 at the tie break. A great business card for this great event, obviously the best volleyball in the world.

The great world volleyball showdown is upcoming in this weekend, at Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno Bologna, with the Del Monte Italian Cup Finals, saturday 22nd and sunday 23rd february.

Osmany Juantorena (Cucine Lube Civitanova): “We’ll face again Itas Trentino after three matches won, but here we have to reset everything and play at our best. We’ll need to be focused and play our way of volleyball, looking forward the Final trying to take home this trophy we missed in last two seasons in the final. We are motivated and focused”.
Simone Giannelli (Itas Trentino): “Will be an high level Final Four with this four powerhouses on court. we have such a great respect for our opponents but everything can happen in this kermesse, and we are confident we can reach a great result. We will take advantage of all our chances”.
2nd Semifinal:
Luciano De Cecco (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “It’s a very important week-end, everybody are waiting for these two days in Bologna, each of the four teams have 25% of chances to win the trophy. We will try to win, we will give our best, versus Modena will be a tough game, they are in great shape, but we are focused on our target”.
Ivan Zaytsev (Leo Shoes Modena): “Italian Cup Final Four is a top event, all four teams at top level. I expect games on the edge and balanced, but we are ready, we go to Bologna for the win, counting on the help of our fans”.
All the top players in the world will face each other in the two semifinals between four powerhouses italian european and world champs Cucine Lube Civitanova, former world champs Itas Trentino, defending Italian Cup champs Sir Safety Conad Perugia and Leo Shoes Modena.

After great success of 2017 and 2019 editions, Del Monte Italian Cup Finals will be back at Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno in Bologna, for the 42nd edition next 22nd and 23rd february.
Present to the press conference were Region Emilia Romagna President Stefano Bonaccini, Lega Pallavolo Serie A President Diego Mosna. Lega Volley CEO Massimo Righi, Regional FIPVA Committee secretary Paolo Mazzoni and Bologna Mayor Counselor Roberta Li Calzi.
President Bonaccini said: “we invested alot into sport in last mandatory, at all levels, and our target is to continue this way, to bring tourism and people in region, and such big events like this brings several people to our city and our region. We also hosted with big success the World Championships at Paladozza, and the Del Monte Italian Cup Finals anre the continue of this great events”.
President of Lega Volley Diego Mosan said: “this is our 42nd edition, we are so happy to gove this great show ato all the volleyball fans in Italy and in the world. the value of the teams on court in that weekend is at top level. All the best players in the world are involved in those upcoming kermesse. All the volleyball stars in Bologna, World Champions, North American Champions, Olympic Champions, European Champions, the best of the best are in Bologna next upcoming weekend”.
Lega Volley CEO Massimo Righi said: “the city and the region answered our call once again, only few bunch of tickets are still available for the event, so we are glad to annouce our satisfaction about this great upcoming event”.
On saturday will take place the two semifinals, the winners will face each other on sunday, but before will take place the Del monte Italian Cup Serie A2/A3 final, a great volleyball showdown in Bologna.
