Society history
I Lupi nascono nell'estate del 1962 per opera di un gruppo di ragazzi che, terminati gli studi in collegio, dove avevano conosciuto la pallavolo, decisero di dare vita alla società una volta tornati a Santa Croce sull'Arno. Dopo aver disputato i primi campionati a livello regionale, arriva l'esordio in serie C nella stagione 1970-1971. Si dovrà attendere il 1979 per aprire le porte al primo campionato di serie A2, fino giungere alla prima partecipazione in A1 con la stagione 1984-1985. Con i suoi 54 anni di storia, venticinque dei quali passati in A2 e tre in A1 (di cui stagioni 1985-1986, 2005-2006), la Lupi Santa Croce si conferma una fra le società più longeve nel panorama nazionale
