It is already the eve of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3 Final Four: after the “mixed” editions with Serie A2 in 2019/20 and 2020/21, and after the one experienced on the tricolor field of the Unipol Arena in the same event as the Final Four of Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega from the last edition, Serie A3 is preparing to experience its first Coppa Italia as a unique protagonist. The second edition of the trophy, awarded for the first time through the Final Four, is now upon us: on the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March, the Banca Macerata Forum is preparing to welcome four clubs and as many fans. All the matches will be broadcast live on YouTube on the Lega Volleyball Serie A channel, and will enjoy enhanced video production compared to the championship matches, with replays, improved graphics and a greater number of cameras.
On the Saturday calendar the two semi-finals crossed between teams from the two groups: Farmitalia Catania – Abba Pineto at 17.00, and Maury’s Com Cavi Tuscania – Med Store Tunit Macerata at 20.00.
Last year, Farmitalia Catania surrendered in the Round of 16 of Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3 at the hands of Lecce.
The second match of the Semifinals is scheduled at 20.00. Maury’s Com Cavi Tuscania, fourth in the Blue Group and fresh from the home success in three sets against Ortona, a rival also beaten in the previous round of the Cup at the tie break, in the past edition greeted the kermesse in the Semifinal with another from the Marche, Grottazzolina. The Viterbese also boast three participations in the A2 Cup: in 2015/16 the path ended in the Semifinal with Sora, the following year it ended with a feat that was only touched when the Lazio team slipped into the Final with Siena presenting themselves without a setter at Unipol Arena.

The programming of the Final Four Del Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A3, scheduled in Macerata on 11 and 12 March 2023, is official. The four qualified teams will play the Semifinals on Saturday (5.00pm and 8.00pm) and the two Finals on Sunday: the the match that will assign the 3rd place will be played at 15.00, while the kick-off of the main event that will assign the Italian Cup will be at 18.00.
The matches, like those of the championship, will be broadcast on the Lega Volleyball Serie A YouTube channel, but will enjoy increased quality production, with more cameras, replays and graphics.
The Del Monte® Italian Cup of Serie A3 is in its second “solo” edition, after the two editions shared with Serie A2. Last year, on the Italian flag of the Unipol Arena, within the Final Four of Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega, it was the Tinet Prata of Pordenone who conquered it. A large stage therefore hosted the first edition, and the second will also enjoy a completely new setting for the third national category which, for the first time, will see the trophy awarded following a Final Four.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 18 January, the Del Monte® Coppa Italia A3 will start with the Quarter Finals. The draw includes eight teams. The best four classified of each of the two groups are competing at the end of the first leg of the Regular Season, but only in the Semi-finals will there be cross-matches between the Clubs of the White and Blue Groups
To break the ice, with the kick-off at 19.30, the challenge between two teams of the Blue Group, the winter champions of Farmitalia Catania and the fourth seeded group, or OmiFer Palmi, which in the Regular Season has won four of the previous six, but not last Sunday. In fact, in the third round of return, the Sicilian sextet won 3-1 between the friendly walls.
At 20.30, the second and third strengths of the Girone Bianco will also compete in an inside-out match at the end of the first leg. Abba Pineto receives a visit from Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano, always beaten in the previous three, all in the Regular Season. The hosts remember the A2 Cup Finals they lost against Taviano in 2005/06 and against Milan in 2006/07.
At 20.30 the Girone Bianco offers the derby between Vigilar Fano winter champions and Med Store Tunit Macerata, qualified with the last slot. The challenge is renewed for the sixth time, with a favorable balance for Macerata thanks to 4 victories and only 1 defeat in the Regular Season (gained in the current season at the tie break). The Fanesi bulletin board features an A2 Italian Cup won in 1999/00 thanks to a 3-0 win over Taranto.
At 20.30 Sieco Service Ortona and Maury’s Com Cavi Tuscania meet, second and third force of the Blue Group at the end of the first leg. The Abruzzese boast an A2 Cup semifinal in 2014/15, but were eliminated by Vibo Valentia at the PalaLeombroni in Chieti, while the Viterbo side last year left the scene in the A3 trophy with Grottazzolina one step away from the final.
