Sir Safety Conad Perugia earned an important 3-1 win on the home turf versus Gi Group Monza, and grabbing the tie in the second place of the Unipolsai Superleague standings with Trento.
It was a tough game for Lorenzo Bernardi’s team, who started without Ivan Zaytsev and Marko Podrascanin. Monza had a good start thanks to brasilian opposite Vissotto and to belgian middle blocker Verhees, arriving at third set in front 20-13, with the game tied at one in the count of the sets. From that moment, Perugia fought back, thanks to the attacks of austrian Alexander Berger, killing three set points to the opponents, and finally taking home the set with a Block of Luciano De Cecco (MVP of the game) and an ace of Aaron Russell.
In fourth set Gi Group collapsed, and Alexander Atanasijevic was the owner of the set, concluding the game on 25-14 in favour of the home team.

Marko Podrascanin (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “We believed, also in third set when we were down by 7, and when you believe, when you are present, when you are always looking for the next poit, the result is good. I’m happy, these three points are very important, we are now in second place”.
Thomas Beretta (Gi Group Monza): “In the third on 13-20 we were afraid of the win. We thrown in the garbage the set missing some decisive serves, while they were able to come back, and they brought home the set. In the fourth they stepped up, and we lost”.
