Civita Castellana was hurt by the defeat against Mondovì but the players certainly did not put their heads down. Spanakis’ men have already secured their place among the eight teams that will take part in the Italian Cup A2, but they still want to finish this first half of season on a high as they take on Materdomini Castellana Grotte away from home. Civita is third behind the three teams tied in first place, while Castellana is bottom, but they do have quality players like the experienced Casoli, or spiker Fiore, outside hitter Bellei (last year in SuperLega with Verona).
« This will be a very difficult game – said Spanakis – Castellana was seen as one of the top teams given the big names they had taken this summer. They had a poor start but they have the quality to get out of this bad run. And one more thing that will make this trip tricky is that they changed setter a week ago (a trade with Vibo, with Buzzeli coming in) ».
