“Wolves” in Aversa, 33 years later

Thirty three years have passed since Santa Croce’s last game in Aversa. It was in the Serie A2 1983-84 in the fifth round. Aversa was founded in 1973 from the fusion between three clubs and obtained promotion in the Serie A in 1975 thanks to the signing of Bulgarian star Koriatrov. That year, Santa Croce finished seventh and Aversa 8th. In that 83-84 season, the Wolves had dominated Aversa twice on a 3-0 score. After a few important years, Aversa disappeared. It was back with new-born Volleyball Aversa in 2012-13. The club earned promotion after promotion until it reached the Serie A2.
