On its debut on the road in Bergamo, Civita Castellana struggled to find its rhythm in the first two sets but then came back with a vengeance to complete a superb come-back at the tie-break. The game was dedicated to Andrea Mecucci, son of manager Paolo, who tragically passed away last summer. Nice gesture too from Felipe Banderò : he wore the shirt of Matteo Consalvo, who broke his ligaments in pre-season a few weeks ago. This proves how united is the group.

Coach Spanakis : « There were two different periods in this game. We knew Bergamo was a competitive team with a lot of quality and they proved it today. They were exceptional in dig and when their reception hanged on their attack was very effective too. We struggled to settle in the game and we wasted big opportunities to tie it in the second set. At 2-0 down, we made some tactical changes and we finally found our rhythm ».
