Superb performance from outside hitter Matteo Paoletti who was clutch too in the tie-break to hand his team a hard-fought victory after more than two hours of play against Spoleto. Paoletti finished with 53% in attack, scoring 25 of 47 possible plays, and he added two blocks with it. But credit to the whole team, which was well-organised and evenutally found the knock-out punch.
Coach Mauro Barisciani’s comments after the game : « I see this as two points won, not one lost. Spoleto is an excellent team, and as expected they showed their fighting spirit in this tight encounter. I am happy with my team’s perfomance even if we had some lapses. Paoletti ? We all know how good he is, nothing new here, but it’s true that he can really make the difference ».
