Less than a month has passed since the last official game but Monza has already made an important move in building the team version 2016-17. Indeed, for its third consecutive season in the SuperLega, the club announced that the head coach will be Miguel Angel Falasca. Born in Argentina, but with a Spanish passport, Falasca can boast a winning past as a setter in Italy (Bologna, Ferrara and Modena) and important spells in Spain, Belgium and Poland as a coach. And this is precisely in Poland that he reached the highest point of his coaching career with Belchatow from 2013 to 2016. He won the league title in 2014, the SuperCup 2014 and the Polish Cup 2016. Falasca was recently named head coach of the Republic Czech which he will guide in the World League this summer.

“I am proud to come back to Italy, being a coach in this country is a prestigious achievement – said Miguel Angel Falasca – I want to thank President Alessandra Marzari and Sport director Claudio Bonati for this splendid opportunity. Hopefully, I will manage to pay back the trust put in me with great results. The SuperLega is one of the most important and difficult league in the world, and its level could get even better. Indeed, many top players like Sokolov or Zaytsev are coming back and there are many talented young prospects that are getting their chances. I am extremely motivated for this new challenge. There’s no doubt the club has a farsighted and winning program. It aims to make steps forward and achieve great things at the same time”.
