Andrea Giani was named sports man of the year in Slovenia for the year 2015. Giani is indeed also the head coach of the Slovenian national team, which obtained the silver medal in the last European Championships and the gold medal in the European League. His name enters the sport history of this country alongside great stars like Samir Handanoviæ (football – Inter keeper), Petra Majdiè (croos country skying, he won the Bronze medal at the Vancouver Olympics with a broken rib) and Zlatko Dediè (Frankfort spiker).
“I am delighted to receive this award – said Giani – This means I’m not just considered a foreigner who came to coach. I will start over next year with an even bigger responsibility because everybody will be looking closely at what we’ll do”.
