The first of two friendly games against Piacenza was played today. Latina lost the first two sets by the minimum margin but managed to fight back to send it to a tie-break. But then the hosts took the upper hand. Meanwhile, during the day, spiker Maarten Van Garderen arrived in town.
The Dutch played in the European Championships with his national team.

“It was a good test – said sport director Stefano Margutti – We showed signs of improvement compared to the game against Milan. We still make some inaccuracies in the clutch time of the sets though, and against a solid team like Piacenza who gave very little away you can’t afford it. But we’re on the right track. We’ll play against them again in Ravenna on Wednesday and we’ll try to make further progress”.
