The season officially got under way as coach Kantor, assistant Patriarca and the players gathered for the first time in the PalaCosta arena. Only ones missing were Stefano Mengozzi, who is on his way back from Japan as we wrote those lines, Alberto Polo, who just got the bronze in the World Championships Under 23 and is now working with Italy Under 21 in Mexico, and Maarten Van Garderen who’s on international duty too.
“I am happy to start this new season – said coach Kantor to the group – I’ll just want you to give the best you have without setting any particular targets. I want each of you to work hard and especially talk a lot, it will be important to exchange our views at all time, some of you are younger, some of you are more experienced. I just want you to have a positive attitude all season”.
