Simone Anzani received the Confcommercio Verona trophy, prize which goes to the season MVP elected by the fans at the PalaOlimpia arena. The middle blocker clinched the award at the very end just ahead of US spiker Taylor Sander.
“It’s been a thrilling season – said Anzani – I am very happy to receive this prize. This is an individual award but one to share with the rest of the lads. The group is composed of many players and staff, they all work hard every day in the gym to be ready for official games. The true MVP has been the team and the group. This prize means a lot to me, this means I was appreciated by the fans, it’s important to entertain them and make them feel some emotions”.
