The draw of the CEV Cup was carried out this morning in Luxemburg and Perugia was drawn against Karlovarsko in the 16th of finals. The Czech side finished third of its championship behind Liberec and Budejovice and will take part in a European competition for the first time in the history of the club. They have a young and interesting group led by coach Petr Brom. They also have two experienced players seen in Italy: Jakub Novotny (Schio, Milan and the then Rpa Perugia) who also had spells in Greece, France and Poland, and Venezuelan Andy Rojas, who played for Cosenza and Castelnuovo. One curious fact about the team: Jakub Novotny is also the president of the team. If Perugia was to go through, they would meet the winner of Lokomotiv Kharkin (Ukraine) and Mirad PU Presov (Slovakia).
