Yesterday’s derby against Perugia was a carbon copy of Città di Castello’s season. In spite of giving a good fight in the second set, there were once again too many ups and downs to contest Perugia’s supremacy. Perugia won it 3-0. However, some of the positive notes came from Maric who scored ten points at 56% in attack, and middle blocker Aganits, who stayed perfect in attack (5/5) and made three blocks.
“Unfortunately, we lost another one against one of the best teams – said Aganits – We struggled at the start, they were at home and Fromm immediately put us under pressure with a good run of serve. And then we really made too many mistakes. In the other two sets, we played better in every area of the game and we stayed close, but Atanasijevic sealed the match with four excellent serves, which confirmed there is a big difference on the serve between the two teams”.
“I liked what our Estonian player (Aganits) did – said coach Polidori – Unfortunately, our usual struggle to play with consistency showed again. And that is mainly caused by individual mistakes. At times, we want to do too much and at times we are not emotionally stable. Still, we also played some good volleyball at times”.
