Ravenna can make history this week if they can get rid of Benfica Lisboa in the Challenge Cup semi-final. The first leg will be in Portugal tomorrow night while the return game will be on Sunday. If Ravenna goes through, it will take on the winner of Minsk (Byelorussia) and Novi sad (Serbia). Ravenna had won three in a row before losing at the tie-break this weekend but the group played some good volleyball coming back from 2-0 down.

“I have seen some of their games, it’s a team with experienced players I saw in the Portuguese national team in 2002-03 – explained coach Kantor – They have a good outside hitter and very tall middle blockers who can jump very well too. I expect a tough game, which is normal for a European cup semi-final”.
