An outstanding performance from Luis Fernando (27 points) and a telling contribution from all the other players meant Matera came back from Corigliano with a superb 3-1 victory. Andres Villena fueled the attack too with 17 points, while the reception and dig was more than satisfactory.

“I am thrilled with the result obtained in Corigliano – said coach Vincenzo Mastrangelo – The boys played excellent volleyball. Credit to the meticulous work done in training, and the fact we kept at it even when results were not coming our way. I think we really didn’t get much wrong against Corigliano, who has an excellent roster and is not surprisingly standings towards the top of the table”.
