First set for Marmi Lanza with: Boninfante setter, Biribanti opposite, Birarelli and Howard middleblockers, Gato andBernardi spikers and Sorcinelli libero.
The beginning of the match is very tight until 7-6. Then Piacenza takes a big advantage and reaches 18-13 first and 20-14 then. So Copra Berni closes the set in its favour 25-19.
Same starting six for Verona in the second set. Piacenza started really well and, at the first time out, the score is 8-3. Verona fights back especailly with Bernardi and Birarelli and get closer to Piacenza: 14-11. After the second time out the score is really tight 17-16 but after that Piacenza finds his game back and goes ahead 20-16. But Verona does not give up and carried once again by Birarelli and Bernardi reaches 24-24. But it is still Piacenza that closes the set in its favour 28-26.
In the third set Pistovic replaced Biribanti. Piacenza serves especially with Simeonov gives a lot of problems to Verona. Score goes to 10-6 for Piacenza. The match is basically over. Piacenza keeps pushing: 16-19, 19-9 until the final 25-16.
