In its first encounter of the new season, Latina defeated Sora in three sets. Blengini lined up setter Sottile, Bozic as outside hitter, Rossi and Semenzato middle blockers, Urnaut on the wing and Manià libero. Three Latina players were still in the World Championships: Van De Voorde (Belgium), Skrimov (Bulgaria) and Starovic (Serbia), but there was still a solid starting six that offered a decent performance.
“We get our first feedback from those little games – said coach Blengini – We did fairly well for the first two sets but then we felt a little tired. What matters is understanding we need to immediately play with the right mentality. And then we use those games to try certain plays we have yet to work on in training. This was a good game, I am satisfied”.
