On the last day of the Volley Market, Verona announced the signing of Sam Deroo. “I am delighted – said the Belgian spiker who will play his third year in the Italian A1 after his two-year spell at Modena – My goal was to stay in Italy. I received the call from Verona and took this great opportunity on the bounce. We have a good balanced team, which could surprise the favourites of this league”. Deroo collected 54 appearances at Modena, he tallied 562 points between league and cup, among which 41 aces and 46 blocks. In the past, he also won the Belgian Cup 2011 and the Super Cup 2010 with Knack Roeselare. He also won the European League 2013 with his national team.
