Andrea Radici will be the coach to take the Piacenza job. Born in 1966 in Città di Castello, he spent most of his career in his home town where he had a lot of success. In 2008 he led the team to promotion in the A2 but the year to remember is 2012-13 when Città di Castello moved up to the elite thanks to 20 wins in 22 encounters, winning the league comfortably and leaving the runner-up Molfetta 16 points behind. His debut in the A1 was a winning one: a 3-1 victory over Piacenza. In the end of a superb first year in the A1, the team finished seventh and made it in the playoffs, but they went out in the quarter-finals, defeated by… Piacenza!
“From a personal standpoint, this is a great period for me, I am extremely happy to have reached such an important target in my career – explained coach Radici – It’s an honour for me to coach such a glorious club like Piacenza. I do realize the club’s three targets: the Super Cup, the League and Champions League, are extremely prestigious and that the club aims to do well. I am also aware this will be a very tough season but I am ready to do my best to have a good one”.
