Six Verona athletes took part in the latest World League weekends, while Simone Anzani is getting ready for his debut with Italy on June 20-22 in Iran. Newcomer Taylor Sander faced the Serbian team of Nokola Kovacevic: His USA won in straight sets the first encounter and 3-2 the second game. Sander scored a total of 26 points, among which 5 blocks. Zingel and White drew one win all in Finland (11 blocks for Zingel 27 points for White). Thijs Ter Horst helped Holland to a double over the Czech Republic with 9 points in the first game and 20 in the following. Finally, only one win in three games for Spain and spiker Juan Manuel Gonzalez. Two defeats came against China and Porto Rico (he scored 9 and 11 points). The win came against Slovakia 3-2, with Gonzalez scoring 13 (4 blocks).
