Verona’s middle blocker, Simone Anzani, is among the 12 Italian players selected for by coach Mauro Berruto to face Iran in this coming World League weekend in Teheran on June 20 and 22. He had taken part in many camps last summer but this will be his first official cap.
Here is the list of players selected for Iran – Italy: Randazzo (Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia), Piano (Altotevere Città di Castello), Vettori (Copra Elior Piacenza), Baranowicz (Cucine Lube Banca Marche Macerata), Lanza (Diatec Trentino), Corvetta (Altotevere Città di Castello), Beretta (Casa Modena), Maruotti (Bre Lannutti Cuneo), Sabbi (Exprivia Molfetta), Colaci (Diatec Trentino), Giovi (Sir Safety Perugia), Anzani (Calzedonia Verona).
Meanwhile, Aidan White and Aidan Zingel were both excellent last weekend in their double header against Finland (3-2, 2-3). White registered 16 points in the first encounter and 11 in the second, while Zingel had 9 and 13.
