A giant in Ravenna. The club brought in the 217cm tall outside hitter Renan Zanatta Buiatti, who will substitute Klapwijk. Born in January 10, 1990 in Uberlandia, the Brazilian is currently the tallest player in the world together with Muserskij. Renan finished runner-up of last year’s Brazilian league with Sao Paulo as they were defeated in the final 3-0 by Cruzeiro. In 2009, he was the best middle blocker of the World Championships Juniores.
“I saw Renan in the Brazilian league and I liked him a lot because he moves extremely well and has an excellent coordination for a guy 217 tall – said coach Kantor – he is strong in attack and at the net, he wants to attack many balls, and he is suited to our team for many reasons, one of them being that he wants to get better and make it into the Brazilian national team senior”.
