There’s a three-club race in this last round of the regular season between Cantù, Castellana Grotte and Potenza Picena, which will respectively play in Milan, Matera and Ortona. The seventh place and therefore the chance to avoid the playoff preliminary round is at stake. To clinch it, Castellana needs a victory and Cantù to lose without a point in Milan.
“This will be a real battle because both clubs need points – said setter Davide Pellegrino – Matera will be the favorite, they play at home and they are a better team but we will be ready to fight. We’re not afraid of anyone and we’ve been doing very well lately”.
