Mercatone Uno Pineto: Mercatone Uno bought the experienced middle blocker Massimiliano Russo.
Max Russo, born on 1976, 196 cm tall, played last season with BancaEtruria Arezzo but he has a long experience in Serie A. He played with Modena (1993-96), Forlì and Cuneo (2002-03).
In the last season Russo scored 209 points in 26 matches despite some injuries he had during the season.
Russo said: “I am very happy because I think that the team is strong and competitive. I hope we will play a good championship but I am quite confident in that because we have all it takes to do it. I am also happy to find Fracascia as coach. It’s like a new challange that I just can’t wait to win”
With Russo the Mercatone Uno starting six is basically ready. Only the libero position must be filled considering that Fenili just decided to play only beach volleyball.
