Città di Castello gathered five points out of the first five rounds thanks to two prestigious home wins over Piacenza and Modena, while there were defeats in Molfetta and Macerata as well as home against Verona.

“The opening win over Piacenza was surprising – said president Arveno Joan – Nobody expected such a clear victory, a great start because we were not all set even if positive signs had come from the friendly games. On the contrary, we did not expect to lose the way we did against Molfetta and Verona. Then, the win over Modena gave us a boost, especially having come back from 2-0 down. Macerata was a tough game, but Giuliani called time-out a few times which proves that we’re tenacious and a difficult team to handle for anyone, and that we’re therefore worthy of the Serie A1”.
