What is about to start is the season of the return in Italy’s elite volleyball. The last time Castellana Grotte was in the A2 was back in 2008-09. Since then, there has been a radical change of philosophy in the club with the founding of the youth academy. The league title Under 16 followed in 2009 and four consecutive promotions from the Serie D to the A2.
First opponent is a tough one: Avellino. “They have a great team – said coach Fanizza – We have done good progress in pre-season but we have to look to the future with the aim to keep improving”.
