Città di Castello already has a special acknowledgement for the coming season: it will have in its roster both the eldest player, Claudio Nardi, and the youngest, Luca Sartoretti. Nardi was born in 1965 while Sartoretti in 1995. The fans even invented a song “second youth” for Nardi, who is close to beat the record of setter Pierpaolo Martino, who made its last appearance at 47 years and 8 days. Nardi will be 47 on October 7.
“I think we have a good team – said Nardi – Van Walle is an excellent outside hitter, we kept some important players and now we’re expecting the signing of a second foreigner. Besides, the coaching staff is top draw”.
