The International Federation has granted Trentino a wild card for the World Club Championships 2012, to take place in Doha from October 13 to 19. The Italians will therefore be able to defend the hat-trick of titles won from 2009 to 2011. Among the 8 participating teams, there will also be the African champion of Zamalek (Egypt), the hosts of Al Araby, the Mexicans of Tigres from the Univeristy of Nuevo Leon, the European Champions of Kazan (Russia) and Belchatow (Poland), which was given the other wild card as finalist of the last Champions League. There are two more teams left to be known which will be from South America and Asia.
