The Coppa Italia effect fill up the William Ingrosso and let Salento get the 3 points in front of their crowd. Mantova, proud and generous, showed a great effort and tried its best to stop the local team
The game started with a Marcus Popp ace but Mantova keeps the match time up to the first time out (8-7) but in the second Salento is way ahead 16-12. Taviano keeps the advantage of 4 points until the end of the first set won 25-22.
In the second set tries to surprise the local time by being agressive from the fist ball. So the hosted team arrives to 12-8, then 16-11 and 18-14. Mantova keeps playing well and close the set 25-18.
After the loss of the second set Taviano starts the 3rd really focused and flies 9-4. The don’t grant anything to Mantova by keeping the level game very high. The score clearly shows 15-8 and 19-12. Taviano is sure to close the set and reaches 21-12 and the set is over with the score of 25-14
Ereu and teammates start strongly also in the 4th set arrivng at 14-10 but Mantova doesn’t give up and at the scond time out the score is 16-15. Mantova takes advantage of some Taviano mistakes and leads the set 22-20. The set now is really tight: 25-25. A winning attack of Popp sends the score 27-26 but Pierini get the serve wrong: 27-27. But then two consecutive points gives the victory to Taviano, the third consecutive one.
