Over two hundred fans came to see the new Verona team as it faced Segrate in the first test of the pre-season. The starting six was made of Meoni, Kosmina, middle blockers Patriarca and Postiglioni, spikers Ter Horst and Casarin, libero Smerilli. Verona proved positive in attack with 52% while it realised 10 blocks and 6 aces. Still it was not enough as Verona went down 3-1 as it made many mistakes on the serve.
“We started a bit tense in the first set, it was a true debut for many today – said libero Smerilli – We can be satisfied because we managed to loosen up bit by bit and show some good things”.
