Macerata brought in a home-grown head coach in Alberto Giuliani. The 46-year old spent the last two years at Cuneo, where he won the league and was named coach of the year in 2010. In the past, from 1990 to 1992, Giuliani had played for Macerata as a spiker, winning the Serie C and B2. This is precisely in that period that he began his formation as a coach.
