The seven consecutive victories obtained by Emma Villas Siena have allowed the Sienese team to reach the playoffs, which were mathematically achieved with one day to spare with respect to the end of the regular season. The white-blues will have their last commitment before the playoffs on Sunday in Reggio Emilia (match starts at 6 pm), against a team that is currently second to last in the standings and for which the last day is decisive in trying to avoid relegation to Serie A3.

Emma Villas resumes its weekly training today with a double work session in view of the last match of the regular season.

Siena is sixth in the standings with 43 points, the record so far has been 15 wins and 10 defeats. Catania is seventh, is already certain of the playoffs but will no longer be able to reach the Sienese. Emma Villas could instead have some hope of reaching fifth place: but, in that case, it would have to obtain a three-point victory in Reggio Emilia and Cuneo would have to simultaneously lose in Aversa without even scoring a point.

The path taken in recent weeks by coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team has been excellent. The white and blues have won 7 consecutive victories and have reached the playoffs, which was not at all a given. In the match played on Sunday at the PalaEstra against Fano, the centre and captain of Emma Villas Siena, Andrea Rossi, was unable to take the field.
