February 24, 2025, it’s 8.30pm, I open my front door in Sorrento, I put down my suitcase and backpack, I’m exhausted, I no longer have a voice, but I’m very happy: Romeo Sorrento, the A3 Del Monte Italian Cup is yours!!!
We recently delivered the cup at the airport into the hands of our founder Dr. Antonino Belfiore who was waiting for us. I start again in my mind from the first moment of this diary: the departure by plane towards Venice for the Final Four of the Del Monte Coppa Italia A3 in Longarone. A new page must be written in the history of this company in business since 1956.
It’s Saturday morning, the phone continues to report notifications of all the stories and posts that the fans, over 150, are creating as they leave by all possible means (flights, trains, cars) to reach the Longarone stadium.
The match against the hosts Belluno started off at a very high level and so it was. Very warm support on both sides. The first two sets are won by our coach Nicola Esposito’s boys, reaction from president Da Rold’s rhinos and the pass to the final will be decided in the tiebreak. It doesn’t start well 1-4 then President Ruggiero’s team turns it around and wins the victory 15-13 with Tulone’s block. On Sunday at 6pm we face San Donà, those who can’t be there can follow us on Youtube or go to our arena where our managers Umberto Albano and Amedeo Maresca have set up the viewing on the giant screen (in fact around a hundred fans will arrive!).
We enter and our fans are even louder and more enthusiastic with flags and banners: “There is no distance that can separate us”.
