Cisterna Volley is back to work in view of the next championship match against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. The match will be played on Saturday 15 February at 8.30pm at the Palasport in Viale delle Provincie, with the Pontini ready to return in front of their fans to face the newly promoted team led by coach Ortenzi. Currently, the two teams are separated by only one position in the standings and four points away, with Cisterna still having to recover the match against Itas Trentino.

THE TEAM – In the roster available to coach Ortenzi, only three players have taken part in all the matches played so far by Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina: the setter Tsimafei Zhukouski, the spiker Georgi Tatarov and the libero Andrea Marchisio. The latter, protagonist of the promotion to the Credem Banca Super League last season, currently stands out as leader of the libero rankings for total and perfect receptions, preceding the equal role of Cisterna Volley, Domenico Pace.

In the first round, Grottazzolina had to do without opposite number Dusan Petkovic, who was now back at full capacity and scored 202 points in 11 games. The team’s best scorer is Tatarov with 234 points, followed by Petkovic himself and central defender Danny Demyanenko, who, in his first year in Italy, has already scored 181 points. Furthermore, Demyanenko took part in the Paris Olympic Games with the Canadian national team last summer.
