After a weekend break, Cisterna Volley is ready to return to the stage at the Palasport in Viale delle Provincie. On Sunday 2 February, at 7.00 pm, Valsa Group Modena will host the eighteenth day of the Superlega Credem Banca. The match promises to be balanced: the two teams are separated by just one point in the standings, with Cisterna eighth at 17 points and Modena seventh with 18 points.
THE TEAM – Valsa Group Modena has often changed the starting six, taking advantage of a large squad to vary the tactical solutions in progress. Demonstrating the frequent rotation, only three players played all 65 sets of the season: setter Luciano De Cecco, libero Filippo Federici and opposite Paul Buchegger. The Austrian is the team’s offensive point of reference, with 281 points scored, and also excels on serve, with 33 aces making him the second best server in the championship, behind only Plotnytskyi.
Other players also exceeded 100 points in the season: the central defender Giovanni Sanguinetti (138), the spikers Vlad Davyskiba (133), José Miguel Gutiérrez (128), and Tommaso Rinaldi (211), the last two with a past in the province of Latina, having worn the Top Volley shirt. In the centre, the best blocker is Simone Anzani, one of the most experienced players available to Modena and with 33 goals since the start of the season.
THE SEASON – Valsa Group Modena is back from a round away success against Mint Vero Volley Monza 3-0, but 2025 hasn’t started in the best way.
