Having put aside the splendid weekend which gave Cucine Lube Civitanova the victory of the 47th edition of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia, a success which arrived in Bologna in front of the sold-out Unipol Arena, the three teams involved in the CEV Champions League are preparing for the last day of the Group Phase, the one which may or may not give direct passage to the 4th Finals or, alternatively, a further round, called Play Off. Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, Mint Vero Volley Monza and Allianz Milano will take to the field tomorrow, Wednesday 29 January, to find out what their destiny will be in Europe. All the CEV Champions League 2024 matches of the Italian teams will be broadcast exclusively co-live on Sky and DAZN.

In chronological order of time, the first team to take the field will be Allianz Milano who, playing at the home of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (at 6.00 pm), will play with the Polish team for first place in Pool C. If for Milan should a 3-1 or 3-0 victory arrive, coach Piazza’s boys will thus be able to celebrate first place in the group, effectively avoiding the additional Play Off round. In the first leg it was the Poles who triumph at the tie-break: Milan, after having effectively rested last weekend – taking to the field on Friday for an unofficial match against Mint Vero Volley Monza, which ended 2-2 – taking advantage of the concomitance of the Italian Cup, wants the top of the Group . After tomorrow’s match, Milan will be on stage on Sunday 2 February at 6pm at the home of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina for the 7th return round of the SuperLega Credem Banca.

At 6.30 pm it will be the turn of Mint Vero Volley Monza who, in front of the home crowd, will host Helios Grizzlys Giesen, a German team. At the moment the team led by Massimo Eccheli is in first place in Pool B, with 10 points scored against 10 for Olympiakos (higher number of victories for the Brianza team). With a success against Giesen, Monza could thus celebrate direct access to the Quarter Finals, a way to at least temporarily remove the difficulties in the SuperLega Credem Banca. In the first leg, in Germany, it was the Brianza team that prevailed, despite the absence of Rohrs: in that case the match ended in a tie-break. After the Champions League match, Monza will be on stage within friendly walls against Padova, in a challenge with a high symbolic and emotional content in the race for salvation.
