The Begin Volley An is growing, match after match. Two points gained in the last two championship matches, played against the big teams in the group, demonstrate that Dore Della Lunga’s boys are on the right track. Sunday’s match at the PalaPrometeo highlighted the two faces of the Dorians: concrete and determined in the first two sets, not very continuous for the rest of the match. Director Tommaso Larizza analyzes the match: “We knew that it would be a difficult match against Mantua, the ranking speaks for itself; personally, in the first round the team that impressed me the most was FarmaMed. We started very well and put them under pressure by winning two sets thanks to a good game. Then Serafini completely changed the team, adding players who in this championship are a luxury to have on the bench. Scaltriti, Gola, Catellani, Tauletta, Montarulo have entered, practically a new team and not of reserves; we ran into trouble, we started making a few too many mistakes and they were good at taking advantage of it. The victory in the third set put everything back into play: Mantua gained confidence while we were in difficulty. A shame because we were one step away from a good victory. Despite the defeat, however, I want to underline that in the last matches against two of the strongest teams in the group, we have shown that we can play on equal terms. We have to work on the “details”; I can think of some balls from the 4th set that we touched well on the block and then rebuilt without however realizing.
