In the Saturday match, valid for the 5th return round of the Regular Season, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza prevailed within friendly walls at the tie break against Sonepar Padova after almost two and a half games, gaining 2 points in a match from two faces. The red and whites took a set and a half to enter the match against a Sonepar who was immediately aggressive and, in the key phases of the fourth set, was good at nullifying nine match balls for Brizard and his teammates and then extended the match to the first useful set point. After a poor start to the match, Piacenza returned to play in attack from the middle of the second act, thanks also to the entry of Kovacevic and Romanò, and recovered by a hair’s breadth to then win the third too. In the fourth set the red and whites had 9 match balls canceled out, committing a few too many errors, but they found the energy and mental strength to redeem themselves in the sprint of a very tight tie break. Loreti finishes as MVP amidst applause.
