One more match to end 2024 on a high note. After finishing the first round with 19 points, ex aequo at Belluno Volley one step away from leaders San Donà, and having obtained qualification for the quarter-finals, it is time to start again with the teams already met for Negrini CTE. The last match of 2024, in fact, coincides with the start of the second round.

Before the Christmas break, on Saturday afternoon the Acqui Terme boys will be on stage at the Palazzetto di Cavalermaggiore at the home of Monge Gerbaudo Savigliano, who they beat with full points in the first match of the championship last 20th October.

The Cuneo team, with four victories, two full and two in the tie break, are third to last with ten points in the standings, the same score as The Begin Ancona, a team that the spa team beat with full points last Saturday. A victory that gave the Acqui team qualification to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup, which will take place on Wednesday 8 January at 8.30 pm at the home of Belluno Volley, with equal points in the standings but with a better set ratio.

Commenting on the scheduled match is the setter Giuseppe Bellanova, MVP in the last championship match, who declares:

“We are happy to be in the Italian Cup and we are ready to face it as best we can. We should train well during the Christmas break and arrive ready on January 8th. Savigliano, on the other hand, the next opponent in the championship is a team that has strengthened and are very strong at home, despite the defeat in the first leg and the clear defeat in the last match against Belluno where they played an excellent match. We have to expect a big fight.”
