Thanks to the success on Wednesday evening at home against the Romanians of C.S. Arcada Galati, Trentino Itas has gained access to the round of 16 of the 2025 CEV Cup. The opponent to face in the third round of the draw will be the Portuguese Sport Lisboa and Benfica.
The first leg will be played in the Portuguese capital on 4 December at 8pm Italian time, while the return match will be played at the PalaPirastu in Cagliari on Thursday 19 December at 7pm. Trentino Volley has in fact accepted the request received from the FIPAV Sardinia Regional Committee to organize the meeting in the Sardinian capital instead of at the daily IlT Arena in Trento. The objective of the operation is to offer further impetus to the promotion of volleyball on the island, bringing an international level match to a land that has always practiced and followed this sport with passion, as also demonstrated by the recent Final Four of the 2022 Italian Super Cup. At the same time, it will be a further opportunity for Trentino Volley to convey the name of Trentino as an attractive tourist hub in a month of December which will also see it take to the field in Portugal, Brazil and Puglia.
After participating in the Uberlandia Club World Cup (10-15 December), the European Champions will then fly directly from South America to Sardinia to prepare, in the three days available, the event that guarantees qualification to the quarter-finals of the competition . Once that commitment is over, the team will move directly to Taranto, where on Sunday 22 December they will play the match of the thirteenth round of the SuperLega regular season.
