On the eve of the 8th first leg of the Regular Season, scheduled for the weekend of 16 and 17 November, the SuperLega Credem Banca confirms itself as one of the most interesting and hard-fought championships of recent years. What animates the first phase are the continuous surprise results and the sudden changes in the upper levels, with matches that are never predictable, but always enhanced by entertainment and beautiful settings in the stands. Sir Susa Vim Perugia regained the top spot with a 3-0 victory in Taranto, thanks to the misstep at the Eurosuole Forum in Piacenza, which in one fell swoop suffered its first stop of the season and slipped from first to third place. Thanks goes to Itas Trentino, now second at -1 from the record after the 3-point comeback with Verona, which cost the Scala team the overtaking of Cucine Lube Civitanova, unscrupulous and surprising. The round opens at 7.30pm on Saturday with the spin between Perugia and Grottazzolina live streaming on DAZN. Points of capital importance up for grabs, at 8.30pm, live on Rai Sport, between Cisterna and Taranto in the challenge to go back up. Four matches scheduled for Sunday. We start with the “dessert”, with the big match of the round: at 3.30pm, live on Rai Sport, Piacenza and Trento will compete in front of the net, third and second respectively in the standings, both forced not to fail so as not to lose Sir from the radar. At 5.00 pm there will be two exclusive live streamings on VBTV: Padua – Milan and Monza – Verona. The round ends with the “Classico” number 110 between Civitanova and Modena, a match full of exes on both sources and live streaming on DAZN. All SuperLega Credem Banca matches are broadcast live on VBTV.

The unprecedented challenge between the Sir Susa Vim Perugia locomotive and the last of the Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina class sees the presence of a former Juventus player at the PalaBarton, Tsimafei Zhukouski, with the Umbrians in 2019/20. The hosts regained the top spot thanks to a 3-0 victory in Taranto, after a week behind Piacenza, and on Wednesday they made their debut in Pool D of the Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Czechs Jihostroj Ceske Budejovice. Massimiliano Ortenzi’s team, however, lost in four sets in Milan on Saturday in the championship match against the Ambrosiani after the illusory final blow of the third set.

Distanced by one point, Cisterna Volley and Gioiella Prisma Taranto meet for the third time in the SuperLega Credem Banca after the two successes of the Pontini team last season. Stopped at 9 after the home stop against Perugia, the Ionian giants are ninth with a one-point advantage over the Lazio team, which has reduced the distance to reach tenth place with 6 points thanks to the comeback with a tie break on the Modena pitch. The two teams first of all want to keep the hot areas of the lower rankings at a distance, perhaps reaching the Play Off area. Enrico Diamantini looks for the winning attack n. 500 in Regular Season, Theo Faure the 6 attacks that separate him from the 500. With 3 seals Efe Bayram can reach the 500 points, now at -3. On the opposite front, close records for Fabrizio Gironi and Andrea Santangelo.

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza and Itas Trentino find themselves in the net for match no. 22. The Dolomites have the advantage in the previous matches, victorious 15 times and defeated on 6 occasions. After a run of six successes in as many championship matches and one point left by the wayside, the Emilians suffered a clear defeat in Civitanova in the seventh round, which made them fall from the top to third place and are now called upon for an important reply against a high caliber opponent. The yellow-blues themselves, victorious in four sets in the first leg of the round of 32 of the CEV Cup in Galati, managed to overtake Gas Sales, placing themselves in second place thanks to a good 3-1 against Verona in the Adige derby, with just one point behind from league leaders Perugia. At PalaBancaSport the Trentino players, who can now also count on Kamil Rychlicki, meet two former players, Gianluca Galassi and Uros Kovacevic (injured and recovering).

Chapter 23 of the comparisons between Sonepar Padova and Allianz Milan opens, a challenge which so far has seen the Ambrosians prevail with 15 successes against the 7 achieved by the Paduans. The Venetian team receives a visit from two former players, now in the role of opponents, namely Davide Gardini, the driving force in the Milanese team’s last championship race, and Yacine Louati. In the standings, the home team, in their second consecutive home match, is seventh with 10 points under their belt after the 3-0 win in Monza in front of their home crowd in the Kioene Arena. A result that relaunches the Paduans in the standings on the eve of the match. High spirits also for Roberto Piazza’s troops. After the 6 points gained with the 3-1 success achieved against Cisterna in the first round of the 10th round and with the 3-1 against Grottazzolina for the 7th matchday, Milan caught up with Verona at 12 points, bringing them within one point of fourth place Civitanova. On Wednesday the icing arrived on the debut in Pool C of the Champions League thanks to the tie break won against the Belgians Knack Roeselare. The Porro brothers will be against each other: Paolo will be the director of Milan, Luca aims to drag Padua to victory.

Match no. 24 between Mint Vero Volley Monza and Rana Verona is equivalent to an important call for the two teams, with the Scaligeri ahead in the previous games by 15 to 8. The Italian vice-champions are struggling with Osmany Juantorena’s ailments and with an anomalous ranking. After the stop in the city of the Saint, Massimo Eccheli’s men are second to last with 4 points, 2 more than the freshman Grottazzolina. The situation was improved on Thursday by the home victory in the tie break on the debut in Pool B of the Champions League with the Greeks Olympiacos Piraeus. The Venetian giants are looking for a coup, having fallen 3-1 in Trento in the 7th round of the first leg and caught up in fifth place with Milan, but one point behind Civitanova in fourth place. Good news for Verona: Rok Mozic is finding his brilliance again and Noumory Keita continues to grind out points on every pitch. Among the exes of the match are Marco Gaggini on one side, Donovan Dzavoronok and the unavailable Leandro Mosca on the other.

The 110th match of the “Classico” between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Valsa Group Modena is coming up, one of the historic matches in Serie A. The red and whites have won 64 times, the canaries 45. The mood is high among the hosts , who after the point taken in Perugia defeated Piacenza 3-0, achieving their fourth victory in four home matches. On Thursday, Giampaolo Medei’s men (spent in Modena) achieved their first away success of the season, in three sets at the Karlovarsko den, on their debut in the Challenge Cup. The situation on the Emilian front is less happy. Eighth position with 9 points goes to the group of former red and white coach Alberto Giuliani. At 2-0 with Cisterna, the Valsa Group let themselves be overwhelmed by the Pontini, losing the home match in the tie break with a rival who was about to collapse with the maximum gap. Many former players on Sunday: on one side Mattia Boninfante, Adis Lagumdzija and Santiago Orduna, on the other Simone Anzani, Luciano De Cecco, Jacopo Massari (1 point at 1000 in his career) and Dragan Stankovic.
