An evening of great emotions awaits the MINT Vero Volley Monza; Thursday 14 November at 8.00 pm (live DAZN and Sky Sport) the first men’s team of the Consortium is ready to experience the historic debut in the 2024/25 CEV Champions League together with the home crowd at the Opiquad Arena in Monza. For this “first time” Beretta and his teammates will find the Greeks of Olympiacos Piraeus on the other side of the net, admitted after the victory in the third qualifying round.

The two teams have never faced each other before, even though last year in the CEV Challenge Cup Monza met Panathinaikos in the round of 16, winning both the home match and the one in Athens.

Thanks to the great performance last season which ended with second place in the Scudetto Finals in the Championship, the Brianza team have rightfully earned access to the highest continental club competition and, drawn in Pool B, will challenge the Greeks in this group stage as well as the Germans of Helios Grizzlys Giesen and the Turks of Fenerbahce Istanbul.

THE OPPONENTS
In Pool B we find the Greek champions Olympiacos Piraeus. One of the most dominant teams domestically, Olympiacos has won 15 of the last 16 Greek titles and is participating in the group stage of the Champions League for the second consecutive season. Last year, the Greeks finished third in their Champions League group, thus obtaining a place in the CEV Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals. The only Greek team to have won a European trophy, Olympiacos has won two CEV Cups, in 1996 and 2005, and the CEV Challenge Cup in 2023.
