There is no time to celebrate at Virtus as the championship looms large with Fano playing two matches in four days (Pineto away and Brescia at home on Sunday).

We start with the away match in Abruzzo (Wednesday at 8.30pm), a hot field where Smartsystem Essence Hotels hasn’t achieved much in the past: “Good at home – says coach Mastrangelo – but it’s time to get into gear away from home too and score points. Let’s put Cuneo aside, it won’t be easy in Pineto but we have to go there with the right spirit and give our best.”

The technical objective for the Apulian coach is quite clear: “Still too many ups and downs – continues Mastrangelo – actually, too many downs that you can’t afford in Serie A2. Good attitude on Sunday at home but now we’re working to improve.”

Simone Di Tommaso’s team, after a wet debut with victory (3-1 in Macerata), recorded three consecutive defeats (Siena, Aversa and Porto Viro), picking up two points (5 in total with the success against the Macerata team).

The control room of the Abruzzo team is entrusted to Catone while the Finnish Kaislasalo, currently the sixth scorer in the A2 series, is coming to the fore in the opposite role. Zamagni and Presta will be the pair of central defenders while the Brazilian Baesso and the expert Di Silvestre will form the pair of spikers. Morazzini free.

The Fano players will try to move the rankings aware of their strength and will do so by relying on the continuity of Roberti and the newfound effectiveness of the Klobucar-Marks pair, authentic star performers in the last two sets played on Sunday against Cuneo.
