From Ravenna to Cantù, the score changes (from 0-3 to 1-3) but not the substance: Smartsystem Essence Hotels Fano is still left empty-handed outside the friendly walls, despite having managed to snatch a set and remain on the pitch beyond two and a half hours. This is also thanks to an opponent (Cantù) who, tied to zero points in the standings (KO with Pineto and Cuneo, the Fano team’s next opponent), played a vigorous and solid match: “Congratulations to them for the good match they played – he states the Slovenian spiker Jan Klobucar – we made too many mistakes and were not effective in serving.” Klobucar, author of a positive performance with 11 points and 62% in attack, identifies the decisive moment of the match in the initial phases of the sets: “In the first and second sets – continues the former Piacenza player – but also in the fourth we went immediately below, then it became difficult to recover. It’s true that compared to Ravenna we won a set but from the next external match we will have to be good at bringing home points in the standings.”
Fano still fought, it’s a pity that in the fourth set they suffered the return of the Cantù players: “I confirm – states the central defender Alessandro Acuti – not well in the first two sets, then we reacted but in the fourth Cantù returned to playing as in the first two and there was nothing we could do.”
