With the double friendly test against Aurispa Lecce (Saturday 5 October in the Bari area and Wednesday 9 in the Lecce area), the 2024 Preseason phase of the Bcc Tecbus Castellana Grotte concludes in view of the imminent official start of the A3 Credem Banca di Serie national championship men’s volleyball. It starts next weekend: the first round is scheduled for Sunday 13 October 2024, but the yellow-blues will observe their rest round and, in fact, will make their debut on Sunday 20 October 2024 on the pitch of the JV Gioia del Colle.
In Alessano, joint training with Aurispa Lecce ended with a 3-1 result in favor of the home team coached by Mr. Cavalera. At New Mater Volley, however, it is coach Giuseppe Barbone who takes stock of this first part of the season: “The cycle of friendly tests ends with the trip to Alessano and I can say I am very satisfied with what I saw on the pitch – he said the 50-year-old coach from Puglia in his first experience as technical manager in Serie A since the beginning of the season – There are considerable improvements in all departments and these appointments always serve to better focus the work in the gym. In reception we are doing very well while there is a lot of work to be done in the other game dynamics. Even the last joint training session was an important opportunity to rotate the whole group and I must say that the boys were ready and responded with enthusiasm. This is an important factor for such a young lineup. The path that is leading to the recovery of Casaro and captain Zornetta is also positive – concluded Barbone. All these considerations make me optimistic about the debut scheduled in ten days.”
