After the victory, the sixth in its history, the third in a row, of the Del Monte® Supercoppa SuperLega by Sir Susa Vim Perugia, it is time for the Block Devils to enjoy the finish line, but with an eye on the start of the championship , which will see Giannelli and his teammates make their debut in the SuperLega against Rana Verona, within the walls of their home. In the aftermath of the success of the Perugians against Itas Trentino, these are some of the voices of the protagonists of the two days of volleyball in Florence, between emotions, goals and the desire to experience a year full of satisfactions.
Simone Giannelli (captain Sir Susa Vim Perugia): “We told ourselves before starting: it would be a match to win by tie-break, we knew we would have to suffer. As well as the victory, I appreciated the style: we suffered but in the tie-break we put what we had on the field. We carry with us the awareness that this Super Cup is already in the archive and will not help us win future matches: the Super League is difficult, we need to understand this quickly. I applaud the club for organizing the trophy in Poland and the Jesi Cup, which helped us immediately form a group. The fans were incredible, they always accompany us and I thank them so much.”
Yuki Ishikawa (Sir Susa Vim Perugia): “Today I didn’t play very well but we won, that’s what’s important. I’m happy to have found my first trophy since I’ve been in Italy. In the second and third set we struggled, they blocked me several times. My diagonals? They are a strong point, I saw that they worked and I continued to attack like this. I also came to Perugia to raise such trophies to the sky: the Super Cup was my first goal, now let’s think about the championship.”
