The last test for the Block Devils is approaching before the official start of the season: tomorrow and Sunday the team will be involved in the Jesi Volley Cup, a quadrangular tournament in which, in addition to Sir Susa Vim Perugia, Allianz Milano, Cucine Lube Civitanova and the French team Tours.

This year, the management of the starters, especially the spikers, is a topic that deserves reflection:

«It’s not a complex topic, but it’s useful to address – underlines Lorenzetti – we’ve already done it with the team, but it’s also useful to address it for the environment. When we found ourselves talking about the roles within the group and on the pitch, when it came to talking about the role of spikers, I highlighted the fact that at the moment there is no data that makes me say that it is better to choose a player rather that another in the role of starter, this means that if there are no starters, no one is a starter: this is a subtle but substantial difference in the daily attitude to be proposed on the pitch. The guys know what it takes to try to conquer one of these free spaces. We talked about it, the guys are aware and so we will continue until something new changes. It is also an important topic for the environment because we must be aware that the Perugia club, based on its experience, knows that three good spikers are needed to be consistently competitive during the season and I think that last year has demonstrated and this is the reason why there are these three good spikers in Perugia.
