With the Open Day held on Saturday 7 September at the Fossatello Park in Lagonegro (Potenza), the 2024/2025 season of the Rinascita Volley Youth Sector began, coordinated by Roberto Simone.

An eagerly awaited and widely participated moment, many enthusiastic girls and boys ready to get involved and compete in the many championships in which the club will take part again this year.

During the event, in fact, the seasonal programs were presented: Rinascita, with an incredible effort and thanks to the participation of numerous budding talents from the Lagonegro area and beyond, will be involved in competing in all the youth championships, from ‘S3 (minivolley and super minivolley) to the female Under 14/16/18, as well as to the male Under 13/15/17/19.

The entire technical staff who will lead the various teams was also presented: Camilla Zaccara, Marta Carboni, Antonio Fortunato, Nicola Crecca, Francesco Maiorana and the big news this year, namely the welcome return to the Rinascita family of Giuseppe Iannarella.

The coach from Lauria, in fact, was part of the technical staff of the red and white first team in 2019 – as second to the then former coach Paolo Falabella – and then took his place at the end of the 2019/20 season in Serie A2. But on his part he has a very respectable CV which certainly enriches the Lagonegro youth sector with the necessary experience: from 1997 to 2000 he led Lauria in men’s B1, from 2000 to 2004 he was with Asci Potenza in women’s B2, then with Sapri in Serie B and finally, in 2010, he moved to Puntotel Sala Consilina, with which he first obtained promotion from B2 to B1 and then to A2 (2012/2013 season). Two championships in Campania and then, in 2015, the return to his homeland with the collaboration with Asd Rotonda Volley.

“We have created the conditions, increasingly extending the range of action across the entire Lagonegro area, to improve the quality of teaching and playing volleyball – explains coordinator Roberto Simone – a premise for achieving increasingly satisfactory results. From Monday we will all be in the gym to start this new year with enthusiasm and a further desire to grow.”
